Backpacks

I developed the weaving technique of leather stripes results in a ”leather web”, which is applicable for making objects, or creating decorative surfaces alike. It resembles weaving and it is similar to the ancient method of the horse-furniture.

I used it to create both of my diploma projects, so I made some organic bags and rucksacks, some sculpture-like shoes, some shoe-objects with robust wooden sole parts, some sculpture-like hats and the alternative seat ”Swinging Chair” with this technique.

What interested me was how to apply this method to create objects by making the most of the opportunities they offer.
